Brock - Good Summary..but

There are some trends and underlying legitimate debate in the “25-15” conclusion you reach (sort of) that we got the best guy.

1.) The trend is not good and masked in the “25-15” record. He’s 10-4 (should have beat Tenn) ; 9-4; and then negative at 6-7.

2.). Three years - losing bowl record 1-2, from winning in his first year to two consecutive losses.

3.). From ACC title game to “3rd” in the Coastal

4.). Beyond 1, 2, and 3 above, losing to ODU is my low point - bar none.

5.). I will list “player issues” but hesitate because it’s very likely several malcontents and problems plagued him (But Frank periodically had the same and prevailed).

Hey, before I’m scorched (bring it on, Ive seen it all in 40+ years of Hokie football), I want the guy to succeed. I am not (and countless others) Pulling for him to fail. Firing a coach is never good -arguably worst for us with FB carrying such a monetary burden for the athletic program.

He’s making Top 15-20 money and we are heading in the wrong direction, at least as of now. It’s hard for me to buy this “give him time” argument when for all practical purposes the 10-4 team was with “Frank’s” players and the 6-7 team was largely with his and after “3” years to get the system and players to not have a losing record and be embarrassed by teams like ODU.

He goes 7-6 or so with this schedule, and lose to the snots on up 81, I’m not sure he survives, or should. I know I’m pulling for a rebound and a 9-4 type year and this will quickly be forgotten.

It’s clear when he has the players (Evans, Hodges, the Edmunds etc) he can win, but it’s his job to find their replacements and coach up the new guys to fill their shoes. Im hoping he does, but hard to argue the product on the field, and the results are ones he has to be responsible for.

I’m a Hokie - diehard. We can, and must, do better and I’m pulling for him to turn it around. He’s our guy, at least for now, and I want him to succeed, but cannot overlook the trends.

MTH.
