I donate because I understand this is a money game and if you want
championships on the field, you need money in the bank. We may get lucky every once in a while and have a once in a generation player to carry us to the top, but to consistently be at the top of any of the sports we need to have the resources to compete with the Clemson's, Alabama's, Ohio States and others who seemingly have never ending sources of money.
This is my 25th year as a Hokie Club member and I have painfully participated at the Platinum level for about the last 8 years after many years as a Golden Hokie. I continually feel underwhelmed by the attention that the Hokie Club pays donors. I think there is a lot more that could be done inexpensively to keep the donor base energized.
