Like you said, the AAU is deliberately limited. I think they added Georgia Tech, Boston U., and a couple of UC-name the California location the past decade or so. Nebraska and Syracuse lost their memberships. From what I've been reading Utah and Arizona State and maybe Georgia are best bets to join the AAU in the next 10-15 years. Three ACC schools (FSU, NCSU, and Tech) have been trying for some time. IMHO, I think Virginia Tech gets an AAU membership before a NCAA team championship which could be a long time from now. I doubt that I'll be around to see it. By that time, UVA will triple their NCAA team championships and JMU will have 3 or 4 more.
