Steve Spurrier and Mouse Davis would disagree with you


Steve Spurrier never had great RBs while at Florida and Mouse Davis, father of the run-n-shoot, never had great RBs at Portland State (HC 1975-1980). Heck the Houston Cougars never had a great RB when it ran the run-n-shoot in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
