I suspect you are correct about the politics


which is why it will be interesting to see what the conference does when its contract(s) come up for renewal in a few years. At least I doubt the Big XII will be able to continue receiving payouts for having 12 members when it only has 10 members. So if the Big XII is forced to either add 2 members or see a reduction in pay to 10 members, then it will be interesting to see how big of a deal the politics is for the non-Texas schools.
