University of Houston raising a lot of money, aiming for AAU.

Boy Houston to me looks like the little engine that wouldn't quit.

They made a mega push to get into the Big XII, but the non-Texas schools wouldn't vote to let them in. They don't want a fifth member in Texas. The SEC doesn't want them since they already have Texas A&M, which is near the Houston market. So they sit out there in the AAC.

Houston is an awfully big television market with 2.425 million television homes. It is slightly less than Philadelphia at 2.817 million and Dallas-Ft Worth at 2.622 million, but nothing to sneaze at. This might be a way to get into Texas if the ACC Network could really benefit from it without having to kiss the ring of UT-Austin. Houston would be a good team player as a member. UT-Austin would want to run the conference. Just a thought.
