People should donate to a cause they support, with the tax deduction as


a bonus. But you are correct, with a doubling of the standard deduction most everyone has seen a reduction of tax already. If the only reason to donate is to get a tax reduction, weather for VT or any other cause, you are making a mistake. Keep the 100% deduction and pay the 20% tax and save yourself 80%.
