Coach Fuente

I recently read the article regarding Coach Fuente wanting the team to adopt a mentality like Tiger Woods. I liked the decision to hire Coach Fuente and this article further supports my belief that Coach Fuente is the right man for the job. I understand that there is results driven anxiety, and believe that there is a natural origin to that. I believe that a point in time is approaching in the timeline where we may be in danger of that anxiety becoming unhealthy. We have to keep in mind that the beast that is college football is changing, and we are charting a course that is different than when Coach Beamer brought the program to the national stage. These waters have new challenges such as negotiating thr transfer portal mentality, rapid fire coach turnover, and ever more intense public scrutiny. These elements have been there to a degree but are now on steroids and that has changed thr game. I believe we have a coach with a good head on his shoulders and has the best interest of the program on his mind at all times. He demonstrated that when he dismissed two prominent players last year. I dont know the infractions, or series of infractions, but he has put team first. And that will pay off in the next year, maybe two. I am confident that redshirting a couple players made for greater challenge last year, but for the betterment of the program he made the call. I look forward to Coach Fuente seeing great success for a long time at Virginia Tech. That is the program he is building if we let him.
