Updated ACC Standings

Here are the updated ACC standings after this weekend, which saw FSU sweep BC 5-0, 7-0, and 4-0 and Louisville sweep Georgia Tech 11-7, 7-2, and 11-10. I mention those two series as they relate to the next weekend.

The Hokies hold a 2 game advantage over UNC in the Coastal Division, BUT UNC now holds the tiebreak because of their series win over the Hokies. So the Hokies need to be within one win of whatever UNC has over Louisville to win the Division. Obviously, a Hokies sweep makes the UNC-Louisville series irrelevant (don't you just love the sound of that???)

A Hokies sweep in Boston also clinches the #1 seed in the ACC tournament regardless of what FSU does as the Hokies hold a one game advantage over the Noles in the loss column. FSU hosts Duke next weekend and then finish the season in Syracuse. Again, a Hokies sweep makes all FSU games irrelevant.

As long as the Hokies win the Coastal, they would own most of the tiebreaker scenarios with FSU (it only gets crazy if UNC were to sweep Louisville and creates a logjam of teams tied at 14-10).

Remember this is a Hokies team that was picked 10th in the Conference and now controls it's ACC Regular Season Championship possibilities.

Pretty amazing, isn't it???

Let's Go Hokies!!!
