@HokieMacDaddy did you plan your Pacific NW Tour? Others' advice welcome!

I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to the Seattle area this summer. It will be just me and my 13-yr old daughter. Mostly interested in the outdoors and experiences, less so touristy stuff, dining and museums. I'm thinking about six days (arriving mid-day on day 1, and leaving late afternoon on day 6). Would love to see the Olympic Peninsula, the San Juans, and Seattle itself. But I've spent very little time in the area and have no idea how long it takes to get places, what the right amount to spend in each area is, etc. Here's what I've had in my head:

Day 1 - Arrive at SEA around 10:30, rent car, head south then west toward the coast; maybe stop in Hoodsport or similar, end in Ruby Beach or similar.

Day 2 - Spend the day driving along the north edge of park, by Lake Crescent, Elwha dam, etc., end in Port Townsend.

Day 3 - Ferry from Port Townsend to Fort Casey, drive to Anacortes, ferry to either Orcas or San Juan.

Day 4 - Spend day on whichever island we land on Day 3, plus whale watching.

Day 5 - Ferry back to Anacortes, drive to downtown Seattle.

Day 6 - Morning and early afternoon in Seattle, then back to SEA, fly home.

I think this is all logistically possible, but feels a bit like we'd spend all our time getting from one place to another, and not enough actually enjoying the places. Is it too ambitious? If so, what would you alter, or cut?

Thanks in advance!
