My first BMW was a 1986 326ES. Bought it around 1991

One of my Navy buds had a kid on the way, and needed a larger automobile. His loss was my gain. Really solid automobile, but it was sooooooooo slow. I questioned anyone talking about fast BMWs...lol

For those who don't know, the "E" (eta) engines were made for fuel efficiency. They bumped the displacement (2.7L?), lowered the valve spring pressure, and did a lot of other things to increase the fuel efficiency, but it also dropped the power from 164 (for the 325i) down to ~129? I installed Bilstein HD shocks, and RD sway bars. Left the springs alone, since you needed to weld in a camber adjustment plate into the rear suspension for the E30s. It was an amazing handling automobile, and I wish I had kept it when I bought my 85 M635CSi. It would have been my DD, and I probably would have eventually transplanted a S52 into it...lol

Ah, the good ole days...
