Fair enough with lacrosse and the professional side of things but...


my greater point is that kids are still kids. 30, 20, 10 or 5 years ago. now, the kids may have more tools at their disposal due to the informational world we live in and the relative ease at which to access a variety of schools. that's certainly the case but that doesn't change the overall experience and impact that it has on their decision.

what you described, "knowing what you want (money) and deciding the best path to that reward" is EXACTLY compartmentalizing and implies nothing else, or very little else, matters. it's just not the case.

not sure there is a resolution to our good discussion here. i get what you're saying but my opinion, based on personal experience, is that you're giving these kids a level of shrewdness that they just don't have yet to be able to disregard the other 66% of their daily lives that takes place outside of the sports program.
