Let me put this another way. Watson would absolutely punk him


just like it did to Ken Jennings.

And Watson never was able to figure out the categories that were a play on words, or puns, or the other quirky categories that only a human mind could work through. So it really wasn't much better than an above average competitor that only knew maybe 90% or so of the responses. But Watson had a completely overwhelming advantage in timing. And Watson didn't win by a little. It destroyed the human competition even though it likely had fewer correct responses available to it than they did.

Again, I've backed off any claim that he isn't a remarkable repository of knowledge. But once you have enough knowledge to get on the show, it is all about the timing after that. When he does get beaten, it won't be by someone with more knowledge. It will be by someone with better timing.
