Interesting QB developments at PSU today

They have a pretty similar QB battle going into the summer as VT.

A veteran (Tommy Stevens) that has proven he can lead the team, going into his Sr. year.

Even some delusional PSU fans believed he was the best backup QB in the nation last year. (Hello Jalen Hurts?)

They also have a young kid (Sean Clifford R-Fresh?) that has little experience but a lot of promise.

Stevens did NOT play in the Blue-White game last Sat. due to late Dec. surgery (and missed bowl game). But indications were that he had the upper hand in the QB battle in august due to experience and performing well when McSorley was out last two years. He was the one that barely lost the QB battle to McSorley back in 2016.

Clifford was and has been above average in spring ball, and showed a bit of promise, with inexperience in spot duty last year. I went to game Saturday and he was average.

Fan base up here is divided on who should take over or will win. To give the best chance to win Big 10 next year, they mostly feel Stevens is the best option.

Does this QB situation sound familiar?

Well about 30 minutes ago, Tommy Stevens entered his name into the transfer portal !! His dad said a week ago that if he doesn't start at PSU this fall, he will start somewhere.

PS - True freshman Noah Cain at RB looked impressive on Saturday and with Ricky Slade (Soph) as the starter and also having two power 5 transfers on the roster, looks like D. Ford will definitely be redshirted.
