Not a basketball guru, but he generally went straight in at the basket and got shots blocked regularly. It was not just a short thing ... needed to use his body and the rim and change of course to create some hindrance to an easy swat around the basket. I think it can be learned ... then there is Wilkins, certainly a taller guy, but he always seemed to overcome taller defenders at the basket.
