There are two clear reasons you hire Young at this point. One, he's a proven winner/coach. Two, he's not an ex-Duke player looking for a stepping stone to replace Coach K in a couple of years.

Young is a guy who's end goal/dream is to coach the Hokies. He'll do that until he decides to retire in five to 15 years.
