Then they would just have to go apoplectic. Coaches don't tell kids to
just go out and play half speed or pull up because it's the spring game, etc. Just doesn't work that way. It was also a bang bang play. What we don't know are things like was QPs throw late, was the route correct, was the play designed to put Ellis in that dicey position to get lit up by any DB. Only the film, playbook, and coaches can determine that. Just can't fault Waller for playing hard, making a legal hit in a competitive play situation. We want kids playing like this now in practice. If not, prepare yourselves for mediocrity like last season. I doubt Kam Chancellor ever pulled up in that situation.
