Prata and medical hardship waiver


I have trouble understanding the rule. If an athlete loses a season of participation due to a year ending injury then they can apply for that year to "be reinstated" thus giving them 4 full years of participation.

It's my understanding that Joey Prata missed 2 full seasons due to injury, one of which he took as a redshirt (not realizing a 2nd year would be waiting)?? Joey will be a redshirt junior next season. Is he eligible for a 6th year "waiver"?? APPRECIATE
