The Concern I Have ...

Is that at 55, you are already set in your ways, formed, so to speak. We hear that MY doesn’t like AAU. We have not yet seen any assistant hires with AAU experience. MY has been in one place for 30 years. Imagine the quick level of change he is experiencing after being comfortable at one school for so long? Everything was probably done in a very similar way for years. Now he is at a much larger school (with more resources) and I’m sure he’s thinking “I’m going to do what I’ve alway done.” But he needs to recruit a higher caliber of player to be successful at VT. There is no question around that. Given that he’s likely set in his ways as a coach, I just don’t see him making major changes in his approach at this stage in his career. I hope I’m wrong. I just don’t see it, however.

I am rooting for MY to prove me and many others wrong. Time will tell.
