Depending what they are, specifically, there's an excellent chance that the contents exist already in the world of streaming music services. You could save yourself some time by checking the Spotify catalog, for example, before you go to the trouble of ripping each one.

CDs kept in a cool, dry place will last for effectively ever. So yeah, take them out of the attic. But they're not going to degrade the way other older media will.
