ACC Softball Weekly Recap
Well, we are basically halfway through the ACC softball season and there’s beginning to be separation at the top of each division.
In the Atlantic, Florida State (37-4, 9-2 ACC) split a pair of games with Louisville (24-13, 5-6) with the rubber game Monday night on ESPNU. The Cards gave Megan King (19-2) only her 2nd loss of the year with a 2-0 win, while the Noles bounced back to win the second game 4-1.
Notre Dame (24-12, 7-5) moved into second place with a sweep of Boston College (11-0, 9-3, 7-2), while Syracuse (16-20, 6-6) won 2 out of 3 from NC State by 5-3, 2-7, and 5-3 scores.
In the Coastal Division, the Hokies (33-5, 13-2) swept Duke 3-0, 6-0, and 2-1 while giving up no earned runs. North Carolina (22-13, 11-4) stayed two games behind by sweeping the Wahoos by three identical 8-0 run-rule margins.
Next week, the division leading games have FSU traveling to UNC while the Hokies will host UVA.
