Very similar to Texas Tech hiring Chris Beard out of a small conference school Arkansas Little Rock based on one good season. Alabama did the same thing with Nate Oats this year. Time will tell which ones work out.

Given that 1) Buzz was leaving and made no plans to hide it, 2) Whit had an entire year to get a coach plan in place as a replacement, 3) Wofford's coach was not going to be a target until their success this year. I think whoever Whit had lined up backed out.
