That was last year though, so there is the possibility that either

1 or both sides of the ball improves this season. My point was that fans tend to give Coach Foster the credit when the defense is good. Shouldn't Coach Foster receive the blame for the defense is average, below average, or bad too? Instead of placing any blame for the defense on Coach Fuente. Likewise, if fans want to place the blame for any problems with the defense on Coach Fuente, then shouldn't Coach Fuente also receive the credit when the defense is good or great?
