Well like I said in another post, I have a lot more questions
about the defense than I do the offense. If the defense shows in practice that it is on the right track to getting back to being in true "Foster form," then I do think 9 wins is a much more reasonable goal. I guess I would rather err on the conservative side and be surprised than be too optimistic and over estimate based on no information. Also, I am not planning to put too much stock on how both units perform during the Spring Practice since the coaches will keep it pretty vanilla.
Also, I am not exactly thrilled about VT's first game @BC given how VT seems to "struggle," even for Ws, in Chestnut Hill and offenses tend to be behind the defenses early in the season. I would have preferred to see VT open with either Furman, URI, or even ODU at home and then go to BC in the second week. Or if the ACC wanted to keep the BC game on Labor Day Weekend, then play an opponent the weekend before Labor Day Weekend and take advantage of another open week later on in the season.
