I do agree with you that I am not sure the offense will be able to compete


in a Big XII style of game. Hence it was the 1 question I had about the offense. However, if all 3 levels of the defense aren't functioning as a cohesive unit during the game, then the offense may be expected to score 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, or even 80 points during the game just to have a chance to win the game.

Also, I am not sure having the offense take a "turtle hiding in its shell" approach to keep the game low scoring will necessarily improve VT's odds of winning the game. The tough part about taking that approach is if the offense is expected to suddenly switch gears and put the "pedal to the metal," then the offense can end up stalling out. Then again, I guess I prefer a style of play where my team puts pressure on the opponents to try to keep up with us on the scoreboard.
