It's hard to watch College Baseball. Total lack of fundamentals

Hitting has improved over the decades, but defensive and basics have really fallen aside. When the ball is hit up the middle and the pitcher grabs it, there is only one spot the right fielder should go and that's to backup a throw to first. Either lack of effort or lack of coaching, but my High School team would have had that play better covered. If the right fielder does his job, 1 run scores, instead of 3.

That said, I haven't reviewed the play to see if somehow the right fielder was shifted towards center prior to contact, or if the right fielder broke towards center field when the ball was first hit, or if the catcher's throw was simply a bullet that was out of reach but in theory the right fielder would have hustled down the line immediately when the pitcher caught the ball.
