Also, I was thinking more in terms the restraint of trade. Not mergers and acquisitions. At least I believe the Supreme Court ruled against the NCAA in the early 1980s ('83 or '84) because the NCAA's TV policy was a restraint of trade. Likewise, the NFL needed to obtain an exemption for Congress to keep from violating antitrust laws associated with the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961. I would think if ESPN is the sole source for collegiate athletics, then it could find itself in the same boat as the NCAA and maybe even the NFL if Congress passes/amends the Sports Broadcasting Act.
