You are right that Babcock may be able to save some money

on the next head coach for certain sports (i.e. men's basketball for example). At the same time, it is possible that what Swofford and/or ESPN overestimated on their projections on the ACCN revenue. Pat Summitt was just used as an example to show VT is "committed" to take women's basketball to that "next level." It is possible VT could hire a Dawn Staley type coach or even a Wes Moore, but for more than what Brooks is making right now. That was my other underlying point in the Pat Summitt reference.

Now if fans knew which coaches were on Babcock's "hot seat," then fans would have a better idea of how much turnover VT could have in the next couple of years. Also, if next season is a "rebuilding year" for the women's program, then it may be unreasonable for Babcock to set too high expectations (i.e. NCAA or else) for the season.
