I doubt Sung feels that way about last season...
He's in his 3rd season and I would expect that it will take him another 2-3 seasons to get the players he needs to add depth. Depth and athleticism are problems right now. Maybe Sung will never be able to sign the players UNC and Syracuse are getting, but I'm sure that he'll do all he can to get them to at least visit Blacksburg. Sung is a good salesman, but the product has to get back to last season's level in order for him to at least have chance of signing more 4 and 5 star players. Sung was fortunate to have some quality seniors last season. This year's team lacks many juniors and seniors. I still feel that he needs to get quality transfers from top programs who are seeking more playing time or/and want to play closer to home. I like his next 2 recruiting classes but to be honest, they aren't as good as the top 4-5 programs in the ACC... and they may never be because those programs have proven histories of winning and many of those schools provide better scholarships because of endowments or well-funded athletic departments.
