I think the most reasonable places you could have it in the South right now are Charlotte or Raleigh which would explain NC State pushing for it. PNC Arena, it was just held in an arena built for hockey, is definitely big enough for it and with UNC on an uptick right now those two combining forces would hopefully make a decent proposal. I think this is where not having a lot of teams throughout the ACC compete really hurts the chances of one coming south. Atlanta would be a great place and if GT had a team it would definitely help to convince the NCAA to hold the tournament there, but the closest team to that city off the top of my head is probably UTC which I doubt the NCAA would take any proposal from them seriously. Same with any major city in Florida and the Florida schools. I would think if Richmond had a bigger arena than just the roughly 14000 the Coliseum holds it the Tech and the other Virginia schools could make a push but until the sport becomes more popular in the region I don't see it leaving the traditional hotbed locations they hold it nearly every year.
