--all I can say is WOW. Mehki was electric!!
--luck is such a huge factor. ZZ could have been in the finals with just a one seed difference. If he'd have made it, his chances were good with previous win over Dean.
--why can't professional arena's handle the crowds the 1st Day of NCAA Championships?? The 4 we've been to have had HUGE delays in getting into the arena. Standing in the cold for an OLD guy gets harder and harder.
--NCAA has to figure out the stalling call. Seems like a lot of leeway by one referee over another.
--DMF turned in a "mini" Epperly. Won 4 straight after falling to consolations. Perseverance!!
--we had a chance to talk to a lot of the VT team at the socials. Those young men are well spoken and patient with us fans. VERY mature. Yes, they did celebrate a little. Carried Mehki into the reception area.
--eyes were wet after hearing Mrs. Lewis's remarks about how much respect they have for coaches and VT fans. They feel IT IS HOME!!
--Andonian, Hillegas and Latona made the event. We might have missed some others.
--I think it speaks to Coach Robie and VT's culture....alumni Dance, Brassette, Mastriani came to the socials. Brassette a possible coaching candidate???
--Miller and Sleigh LOVE VT. Wish they spent their career with us. Both enjoy and doing well in their post graduate programs.
