Looks to me like they are realizing they have a flawed business model.

It also looks like they are no longer patient with Larry Scott telling them that they have the best long term model. They need a partner to get that network distribution. It doesn't have good distribution in California.

On top of this their football and men's basketball teams are no longer competitive nationally. They were just a short time ago, at least Oregon was. This is fixable with good coaching hires and recruiting.
