Now, I know you talking about the school, so I also know of a few older Duke fans in my area, some who I have gone to church with, who never would have sniffed a Duke education who have sent their kids to Duke based on their genuine love for the school.

I think when you get into questioning somebody's fandom regarding sports, a slippery slope exists that's better off avoiding. I just feel this argument is used mainly by college graduates to disparage people who did not attend college. Just my opinion.
