Early Van Brill vs BC scouting report

Wrestlestat #16 Van Brill over #12 BC 7-6. NCCT has these guys virtually equal seeds at #16/#17. I think this is about right with the exception of the final score.

Both wrestlers have faced strong and high quality competition during the year. If you recall, Van Brill and BC faced each other at CK and Van Brill pinned BC with 1 sec left in match. BC was leading 2-1 late, gave up the escape and things went south when Van Brill caught BC in a throw. BC was forcing most of the action; however, seemed very distracted taking instruction from the coaches in the corner. BC is much more confident and wrestling better at the end of the season. Van Brill is lanky and BC is stronger. Van Brill does a lot of reaching up and neck snaps in neutral. Brill is tough on top and likes double unders and crab rides.

BC should not look to use his strength with body locks and throws...Brill is too lanky and knows how to counter. BC should look for Brill to reach for the neck snaps and shoot for the legs without mercy...he can play catch and release with Brill. Also, BC will have a hard time accumulating riding time and mat returns will be difficult doe the the difference in heights.

Keys will be early take down for BC and getting an escape quickly in later period when starting down. If ahead and choise in third, I might even choose neutral. With the way BC is wrestling of late and looking at things closely I think this is BC's match to lose and hopefully will not get surprised again.

Prediction BC wins comfortably 7-2.
