attitude. You don't see any SEC football fans worrying about some scrub opponent do you? No. They expect to win. It doesn't mean they never lose to underdogs. It's that they spend no time or energy worrying about it. They spend their time bragging about their team and talking about how much they'll kick ass.

Someday, maybe, VT fans will lose the inferiority complex.
