Here is an interesting analysis of what he refers to as our soft schedule
Both VT and uva play UNC, GT, Miami, Duke and Pitt in the Coastal. Then uva plays FSU and Louisville in the Atlantic, those two finished 6th and 7th in the Atlantic last year while VT plays BC and Wake, who finished 4th and 5th. So based on last year, VT has a more difficult schedule playing 4 and 5 instead of 6 and 7.
Out of conference, both teams play ODU and Notre Dame, uva plays William and Mary and Libery while VT plays Furman and Rhode Island. So the difference is W&M-Liberty vs Furman-RI, don't know that there is much difference here.
So the only justification for the "soft schedule" remark is that our schedule may be softer because we play them, while theirs may be more difficult because they play us. I am guessing the writer of the post never bothered to actually look at the scheduling, but was just shooting his mouth off. Anyone surprised?
