I disagree constructive surgery needs to be done on Lane

when your factor in the sideline. FWIW I believe just about every MLS club either currently uses or has used a football stadium, baseball stadium, or multi-purpose stadium to play their home games.

FC Cincinnati (expansion club) - Nippert Stadium (U. of Cincy)
New England Revolution - Gillette Stadium
Columbus Crew - Ohio Stadium (Ohio State)
Chicago Fire - Soldier Field
Atlanta United - Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Orlando City SC - Camping World Stadium (aka Citrus Bowl)
Colorado Rapids - Mile High Stadium/Invesco Field at Mile High
Philadelphia Union - Lincoln Financial Field
DC United - RFK
New York City FC - Yankee Stadium
Montreal Impact - Olympic Stadium
New York Red Bulls (Metro Stars) - Giants Stadium
FC Dallas (Burn) - Cotton Bowl & Dragon Stadium (Carroll Senior High School)
Houston Dynamo - BBVA Compass Stadium (used by Texas Southern football team) & Robertson Stadium (U. of Houston)
LA Galaxy - Rose Bowl
Minnesota United - TCF Bank Stadium (U. of Minn)
Real Salt Lake - Rice–Eccles Stadium (U. of Utah)
San Jose Earthquakes - Stanford Stadium (Stanford), Oakland Coliseum, Spartan Stadium (San Jose State), and Levi's Stadium
Seattle Sounders - CenturyLink Field
Sporting KC (Wiz) - Arrowhead Stadium & T-Bones Stadium (baseball)
Vancouver Whitecaps FC - BC Place (Canadian football stadium)

former clubs
Tampa Bay Mutiny - Tampa Stadium & Raymond James Stadium
Miami Fusion - Lockhart Stadium (originally designed for HS sports)

My point is that none of these stadiums had to make any construction adjustments in order to switch from football to soccer or vice versa. A few stadiums may have some movable stands, but that would be no different than a stadium switching from baseball to football or vice versa.
