I don’t want people to take this the wrong way...


but after 30+ years of being a true Hokie (college years until now), there is one thing I can count on in every sport... mediocrity. Sometimes the mediocrity can be a higher level of mediocrity on the cusp of being very good, but we’re mostly mediocre in every sport.

I’m sure Coach Szefc will get the Hokies to a much more improved state, but we won’t be winning any ACC championships or making noise in the CWS any time soon. Same can be said for our other 20 sports. I love them and root for them. They will amaze me when they beat #3 Duke in basketball, #14 Miami in WBB or #8 UGa in softball, but will bring me right back down to earth when they lose to PSU in MBB, most of the ACC field in WBB or a Texas State in softball. So losing to Bryant is just par for the course. I’m sure they’ll beat some good ACC teams this year but get swept by BC. IIWII
