Like goatzz said, you can walk the "city" in about 15 min


The downtown area (they call it uptown here for some reason) is not big at all and doesn't have any shopping. It is literally a bunch of office buildings, condos, apartments, and restaurants. There are a lot of breweries in the area and transit within the "city" and to the south is good with a one line rail system that is cheap and reliable. Lots of those scooters all over the city also if you like those.

Charlotte is not the city, it is the burbs around the city. That's where you find stuff to do. Spoken from someone who lives in the burbs and has a wife and two kids. So I'm sure the young/single people might disagry with me.
