The first half was concerning. Looked like another game where we'd get close, maybe even tie it, then drop off of the face of the planet while they'd get hot. Happens in every Tech sport.

But our girls started knocking down threes left and right. And Magarity was a force in the paint with all her rebounding. It looked like half of her misses were because Miami gigantor kept hacking her. And the ACC refs did us no favors with the atrocious possession calls. No matter, Hokie win and that's all that matters.

We also have to give it to Kenny. There was a chance that Miami could've ripped it from Emery in a trap in the final minutes of the game and he knew to take a timeout. Same with the inbounds passes. Miami gave a scare with its really good full court press defense and it almost got to our players at the end. But they scrapped. And they hit their clutch free throws. Really, just a happy day for us when all of the flaws of our team dissipate to beat a ranked team for the first time since November 27th, 2016.
