45 minutes isn't a bad commute for this area at all, plus you don't have to drive. I'd take a look at that zip code mentioned above. Oakton high school is consistently one of the highest rated public schools in the county. Your kids may never go there, but resale will be easy. Madison is also highly ranked, which may be your alma mater. I actually live in Vienna now (next to Thoreau middle school) and love the area. My office is in Herndon, off sunrise valley dr. I drive against traffic. 14 miles. 30-35 minutes up lawyers and hunter mill to toll road. good luck.
