The issue with hiring a former VT player is when that is the only qualification that he has: no coaching experience, no recruiting experience. JH has some of each. Having listened to him and talked to him at the NoVa recruit night, I think he will do well on the recruiting trail and relating to players. He seems like he is able to break things down well, which will be good when teaching his players.
