I've said it on the men's board, I'll say it here. It is all about . . .


the $ in their pockets. It is a tight (as in small) fraternity/sorority. They don't want too many members. It diminishes their flow of funds. By mid-Feb, you are seeing officials, in both sports, men's and women's, that have done 2 or 3 times the number of games that the teams have.

The wear and tear of travel, and running up and down the court 6x a week, with people half their age, that only do it 2x a week, starts to show.

It only gets worse as the season wears on. You see more ticky-tack stuff at the end of games because they are tired. Objectivity and consistency is lost.

And before anybody wants to jump me, I know. I know people that have been, or are trying to get into the "inner circle." It is next to impossible to get a shot. You have to know somebody, or be near perfect in their evaluations, and those that get in develop that same attitude. Less is better . . . for our wallets.
