Don had one of the longest NFL careers of any Hokie
Being a back up QB saves your body from wear & tear. Little known fact, he lived across the street from a friend of mine's father in Miami Springs when he was a Dolphin. I think he sold the house when he went to Cleveland. He lived somewhere else when he took the FIU head coach's job. Wouldn't be surprised if he had built a house up in Broward near Dan Marino. (Westin?)
Speaking of NFL feats, Bruce's longevity in the league was even more amazing. Not only did he last a very long time, he was a starter for almost all those years. Can't remember if he was bumped to 2nd string at the end of his time with the Skins, but he was definitely a starter for most of his time there.
