Not Chris...

But they werent playing with a full roster even as summer approached. They already had an open scholarship they didnt give out, knew something was up with Sy and had no reasonable expectations for Wilkins and Kabongo. Clarke and Nolley were out of their control.

Wilkins surprised and showed he could be counted on for small minutes, but even counting him youre only at an 8-man rotation. J-Rob and Horne get hurt and now youre down to 6.

Im unsure why Buzz would leave due to this because it was caused due to 4 things:

1) NCAA ruling on Nolley
2) Clarke off court issues
3) injuries
4) his own roster mismanagement

He wouldnt take away any of those 4 scenarios by going somewhere else.

Thats not to say I think he stays at VT next season, (I dont, if we're being honest). But it would be due to other factors.

1) he loses 50% of his roster and something like 80% of his production this season (J-Rob, Clarke, Hill, NAW, Outlaw all gone)

2) possible job openings closer to where hes from...Texas and Texas A&M come to mind

3) his stock isnt going to be higher than it currently is as a hot name in the coaching community...taking VT to its first ever 3-peat of NCAA tournament bids, top ten ranking and maybe a run in the tournament

4) his contract only gets more favorable to VT the longer he stays at VT...now would be a good time to fleece a desperate AD into a contract heavy-sided in his favor.
