An interesting look at another side of the transfer portal

The portal is upon us. What does it mean? An interesting look from Dodd. Under the old transfer rules, a player had to tell his coach he intended to transfer, now they can just enter their name in the portal "and wait for their phone to ring".

For undergraduates, they still have to sit out a year, unless they hire a lawyer like the one interviewed in this article. The lawyer interviewed now specializes in fighting for waivers to the NCAA rule requiring they sit out a year. Generally as described, you dig up every big of negative info about a coach and a program and you throw it out there, and by his experience, the NCAA and most schools break, and authorize the move, and get permission to play.

Dodd also interviews Pitt's coach Narduzzi. Narduzzi is taking a hard line stance at Pitt. Its a honor to be there, and they treat the players well, per the coach. But if a player enters the portal, he's done as a football player at Pitt.
