"mano *a* mano" is what Flyer intended.


That's "hand to hand". Wrestling certainly qualifies as hand-to-hand combat.

"mano a mano" seems to be more generally used for any one-on-one competition. Miriam-Webster defines the phrase as:

| in direct competition or conflict especially between two people
