If you think VMI should drop down a division level


then do you think The Citadel should drop down too? FWIW the Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Norwich, the Merchant Marine Academy, and SUNY Maritime College play sports at the DIII level. I think those are the only other military affiliated schools in the US. I am on the fence about whether to include Maine Maritime Academy on that list. It does not have a service requirement after graduation, it is one of six maritime training colleges in the US and only one of two that fields a Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) unit. FWIW it competes at the DIII level too.
