says they want to come back and you have no better option why wouldn't you say yes? I understand the precedent it sets but the world is changing. Just because you enter the portal doesn't mean you can't come back. Just like just because you quit a job doesn't mean you can't come back.

It is really quite common in the world of business. People get other job offers and current employers counter. People leave a job only to come back to the same position a year later. Just depends on the circumstances and how a person leaves would be my stance. If they come into my office an poop on my desk then obviously they aren't coming back but if they man up and explain why they think another opportunity fits better and do so in a professional manner I don't see how you can fault anyone for that especially after the season ends.
