Timing is a little suspect

Collecting and paying sales tax is a fairly complicated and expensive proposition. Small pop up retailers on the internet don't have the sophistication to do it, the reason behind the ban on sales tax on internet sales was to spur the development of the internet as an e-commerce engine.

Now small businesses will need to utilize companies like Amazon marketplace so they can stay compliant with the law. Interesting that Amazon just agreed to invest big in VA and now VA passes a law that pushes business to Amazon. Naaaahhhhh those two things can't be related.
